Bad experience with dealers

beware the button pushers !! Think Dealer talk is off limits ;0)

BUT FWIW... didnt get my money back... was offered a swap with a shabbier horse as long as I was prepared to pay a cash adjustment of a further £1k... so ended up keeping the horse and forcing OH to learn to ride ;0)

Wilson,
I would be interested in knowing if you went to any of the people that were suggested and would appreciate a PM if you have a few mins to spare.
Thanks.

Nearly! Horse was 'bought' back and as soon as we left the yard... cheque was stopped. Funny that! That was two years ago, police weren't interested, private detective couldn't find their address so we couldn't even serve them with court papers and take them to court.:mad::mad:

I think you stand more of a chance of resolving an issue with dealers than private sellers in a court of law. I know a dealer who went to court and had to pay out but had she offered them an alternative horse apparantly she wouldn't have had to..

Vrin - yes that's true partly because good dealers have a rep to maintain and may have an alternative horse, but also legal position is different. From private seller is buyer beware whereas trade seller has legal obligations under sale of goods act.
