Last few months he's been struggling a bit with his back end, vet wasn't too concerned as he's your typical accident prone greyhound, figured he had tweaked something.
Last week he suddenly had a huge lump, weakness in his back legs and his spine was sticking up, vet thought slipped disc so he went in for xrays this morning to rule out anything else before an MRI. Xrays show aggressive bone cancer in his spine that has already eaten away at alot of the bone and at this point isn't reversible/treatable as the damage is done 😞 he's 8 years old.
He's coming home for as long as he's comfortable on painkillers, he's still eating/drinking and running around the place. You honestly wouldn't think anything is wrong with him except for the odd stiff stride but apparently he's got a few months tops before its either spread and causes significant problems elsewhere or damages a nerve and causes paralysis.
Obviously as soon as he's showing signs that he's uncomfortable or in pain he will be put to sleep.
You all helped me find him nearly 7 years ago, so thank you all. Hopefully he has a blast in his final days and we are going to make sure he lives life to the full and gets spoilt rotten.
