Well just wanted to to share this as keep thinking about it!!!
My new mare maize who i have had since April on loan is being sold by the owner which means that she has to go. Im really really gutted!! I love her to bits but there is nothting i can do! I have been offerd her to buy but i cant afford it!! Its crazy!! I really dont want her to go!! Well there we have it hahahaha

no she is not in financial difficulties she is moving abroad and not coming back so wants to sell her it sucks lol!! I have just started to get to know her propley as well!! :-((
 
Why dont you get a loan to buy her, then get someone to share her to help you with costs? Is she asking stupid money for her? Im sure if you really want her you will do anything possible to have her, i know i did when i had my coloured.

Have you suggested you would like to buy her for the right price to her owner? After all, if it was my horse and I saw she was settled with a good owner, I think I would inclined to drop the price.
 
hey well she first of said 2000 for her but i think she is worth a bit more than that! what u think she is 9YO IDxHanovarian she has not done alot but has fantastic paces and a huge jump. Has alot of potential! Her dad was one of the best Registerd ID stallions has good breeding.

I think she is gorgeous. she looks a very sweet mare, is this the one that had a capped hock or am i mistaking this one for another horse?? She is as worth as much as someone will pay, why dont you ask her if you can pay her in bits? If that helps? I think we need to get you a rich man that will pay for her, while everyone is looking find me one, im 19 though so not too old lol
 
If you already have this horse on loan and you get on with it, putting aside what it has done, then why are we discussing a price tag of £2000 ... If you like a horse, got on with it and it did what YOU asked of it - whether you want to qualify for HOYS or plod round the common - you would pay the price tag without a doubt. You could spend £2000 on a complete stranger and have to live with the hell of owning it!! I think if it is what you like then £2000 is not a bad price but no-body can put a price tag on just a picture.. if you buy it then have it vetted to make sure everything is well. (there is not much out there for less than/equiv to £2000)!
 
I think she is probably worth more than that too... but how about talking to the owner about how sad you are going to be to lose her and could there be any way you could perhaps pay in instalments??? I'm sorry, I don't know how old you are so don't know whether you're at school or working etc etc.
 
hehe thanks guys!! just so you all know i am 18 and i am in 6th form but going to uni this coming year. Its going to have to be discussed with my mum and dad and the owner itself to see what we can arrange etc. She is moving abroad so she said she would never have the time for her again. Im not really botherd about the price its was just a question its just the fact that she is going is what i am botherd about hehe

I know exactly how your feeling as the mare i had been loaning for a year was sold under my nose.... owner didnt even bother telling me she was selling her until the day before she went to her new home

I think £2000 is a very good price by the sound of it

However if it doesnt work out, then it will be for a reason
I was heartbroken when Lucy was sold and can still get upset about it now (1 1/2 years on) but i know have a gorgeous gelding who i can call my own and is better than my old loan horse

Do you want to buy her when your off to uni next year?
 
hey thanks guys. Yeah i say that everything happens for a reason aswell. My mum has said we can look for another horse but i dont really feel like looking for another horse, not in the respect that dont want another horse because i dont want to not have a horse but i think its telling me something that i dont want her to go!! i really dont know if that makes sense but i know what i mean haha!! Yeah i think i will be fine with uni!! i dont want to give up horses hehe!!
