The owner who I wanted to buy my loan pony off has told me she won't sell. I can't keep riding this pony if I cant have him. I would always be afraid that she would take him away. Its happened before and I wont do tis again. I hoped and hoped and hoped but its not going to happen.

To add insult to injury, Virgin holidays have made a ***** up with my wedding and now its all cancelled.

So, no Pony. No wedding. ANYTHING ELSE TODAY!!!!!!!!!?????????!!!!!!!!!
 
Sorry thay you are having such a bad day and hope Virgin will be offering you compensation.....

With the pony could you not have a loan contract drawn up guaranteeing the period of time you could loan the horse - eg a year, with a decent notice period thrown in?

too much hassle. I might as well cut my (many) losses and run.
 
Oh blast :( On both counts :(

Maybe ask owner if s/he will consider loan with a view to buy? Get a good contract drawn up?

As to the wedding, ours was in a registry office and a pub for a pint afterwards, and we're still going strong :) Probably not your dream though. Hugs.
 
Thats the pro's & con's of loaning sadly, look at it from their point of view, if they have loaned him as adversed to selling him to safeguard his future then why would they sell? What happens if you bought him & 12months down the line you loose your job & have to sell him on? I know that is why i loaned rather than sold my gelding, at least if things go tits up with the loaner he can always come home to me rather than them being in a "backs against the wall" situation & having to resort to sales or dealers if they couldnt sell him.

Sorry to hear about your wedding though :(
