Well last year I was run over by a horse in the field my horse was kept in and damaged my pelvis. Had 7 months off riding and 18 months off riding due to my pelvis and then having a sick horse. During this time I damaged my pelvis again this year when I was knocked over by horse once he came off long term box rest.

My pelvis has flare ups every so often and I have to keep going for physio to try and help.

My horse also has a dodgy pelvis (what a pair :P) due to a old injury. Since I have been back riding my horses hips and hind legs have been giving him alot of grief. Vet and physio have said to do walking work ridden for a month to see if we can help strengthen his hind muscles. But what I was wondering was that could there be any chance the pain in my pelvis could be causing some of my horses problem. If Im sore then I may be compensating with my position etc. If so could I make my horses injury worse?

Actually that would make sense - why don't you get someone to video you so you can see how you sit? Sorry you have had so many problems and it must be frustrating to still not be out of the woods.

I have recently given up completely due to a pelvis injury :( My horse was definitely one sided because of my position (I have left sacroiliac joint dysfunction following a fracture)

Luci07 never thought of that. Will get a friend to video so we can see if there is a issue. Least then we can perhaps do something about it.

I'm currently waiting to back to physio as its been playing up again.

JoG So sorry to hear you had to give up riding due to your pelvis issue. I damaged both sacroiliac joints when I was run over. I was send through the air and went over the top of my horse before landing in the mud at the gate when the horse galloped up the hill and never stopped.

I broke L5, my sacral bone and cracked my pelvis :( Have you tried Pilates or Alexander technique? They are definitely best for "straightness"!!

No havent thought about either of them to be honest.

But I'll go and have a look and see what I can find. Definitely worth a go to see if it helps :D

Thanks :D

JoG that must of hurt. How long ago was your accident if you dont mind me asking?
