bad start to the morning!

so last night i was delving in the dogs raw food freezer and saw there were loads of kidneys which 2 out of the 3 dogs refuse to eat. As we really should do some training I thought I'd make a batch of kidney cake instead of the usual liver cake.
I am such an idiot as I must have forgotten to turn the oven off and this morning me and OH woke up to a smokey flat that STINKS of charred kidney. OH is furious (just text me from work saying he is at his desk and feels sick because he smells of burnt kidney so much!) and I'm meanwhile trying to air the stinkiest flat ever (and everything in it!)!!!!!
Black dust that was kidney cake is now outside in the bin! - never again!

Go and buy some smoke detecters, you could both have died.

thanks for the concern! we do have smoke dectors, i cant seem to make toast without them going off, but acrid kidney smoke and they never bleeped once? odd!

Get some candles burning and I think bowls of vinegar are good at absorbing smells. You poor thing, it sounds awful

Yup I can safely report that vinegar and water either simmering in a saucepan or in bowls has been the best!

An onion cut in half is very good for absorbing smells.
