I don't personally know aybody who posts on this forum but, over time, I have found I empathise with some more than others. I've noticed that none of those has 'had a go' on the magnetic head piece thread on Comp Riders (which after all, was started in good faith and in response to requests from other HHOers) or on other posts where things have got unpleasantly personal. Are some people less keen to stick the knife in than others and what do those who are having a go get out of it I wonder?

People are entitled to an opinion but when it's nasty that is not on. I have seen some posts and loathe those people hiding behind a screen. Would they be as nasty if we knew who they were?
Have a useful opinion and a healthy difference of those opinions but leave the nasty stuff out because you don't know everyonoes circumstances and it's really bullying fullstop. It's not productive in any way shape or form. It's bloody horrible and no one should have to explain themselves.

hi rosie fan whos that on those piccies tht u gt who is the 2nd pony from the end [the grey]? itz jus it realli looks lyk a horsiie down mii yard plz write bk!!!!

I normally abstain but sometimes I get so fed up. Its never anything personal because I do not know anyone really on here so all I can judge on is what has been written.

I am really suprised by the response it got to. It was posted in good faith. Maybe people should take peoples feelings into account, as some of those posts were downright rude.

What makes me laugh are threads like this bitching about bitchy threads

I tend to find on here that when there are long heated threads containing 'personal' remarks- there is usually some kind of historical context that helps put things into perspective. If you haven't read the many many threads preceding it you don't really get the full picture sometimes IMHO.

Oh come on, some of those posts were pretty below the belt and P_G did post in good faith, she didn't ask for advice and defo not the insults that came later.

can't comment for those that actually posted so-called insulting threads...

Sometimes I just disagree with what has been said and will state my point, which can be taken the wrong way or personally.

To use the Magnetic headpiece thread as an example - I do seem to have a lot of disagrements with P_G, but then sometimes wholeheartedly agree with her and strangely this was one of those times!

ok........lets step away from the "virtual"...

if someone annoys you in RL, and you really don't agree with most of what they say, do you...

A...tell them straight...

or..

B...pussy-foot around them because you might offend them....

no-brainer...this is the REAL world.

Everything on this forum is created on what is written, and sometimes people can be misunderstood and taken in the wrong way. There are, however, some people who always post to try and be contraversial and TBH I think it is trouble making and childish. If you have a valid opinion then fine, but no need to put it into a personal attack! It can ruin useful discussions and turn them into a slanging match. There were a few "to the point" comments on there which were fine, its the snipey comments that annoy me,personally alot more!! Though I have started to expect them from certain people tbh, which is a shame as when they do post something valid I take less notice of them

I know what type of posts you are meaning. IMHO the sort of person who sends those sort of posts is a very bored frustrated person sitting at home all day with nothing better to do than bitterly criticise others. When you view them in that sort of sad context, it becomes a lot more understandable. Its their only outlet.

I agree - this is a forum where I have learnt loads and nobody learns anything from the nasty (and often sneering/bullying) replies which are posted. I think they are pointless because they don't even make me stop and think. I still wonder what they get out of behaving like that - sad, sad people
