I think you will be directed where to go depending when you arrive and what direction you are coming from - you may not have much choice where you park!

I was planning to go north of the site to hopefully fall in to the traffic not coming from the m4! Last year we missed the first 2 hours of xc cos of queuing which was a shame!

They usually run a one way system so you go where directed, XC is always busy, we used to queue in the 90s!

We tend to come from Tetbury on the A433 and around Didmarton there is a turning which is usually signed for Badminton car parking for a left hand turn which will eventually bring you up to a selection of parking areas although you will be directed to the one to use. If you get there early enough you park up near the lake.

You will get filtered in from the direction you arrive.

To avoid the A46/M4 traffic and arriving from a northern direction you can opt for:

Lake/Ice House - main route in is A433 from Tetbury, through Didmarton and turn left, alternative route is towards Sopworth at the cross roads by Sherston primary school, then straight over the Sopworth cross roads.

Luckington Lane - through Sherston, down to Luckington, through Luckington towards Acton Turville and then turn right

Went yesterday and unimpressed with the Badminton parking. We were there 9am on Wednesday and still had to queue and the parking people seemed grumpy and unhelpful then so I guess it’s going to get worse!!

The only answer to not queuing is to aim to arrive at c. 7.30/7.45 based on past experience

It can be faster if you can miss the motorway traffic (when we have been staying north it has defo been easier) but unless you have a really pressing reason (like animals needing care etc) I'd just go that bit earlier

Is the car parking drying up sufficiently that a (useless rear wheel drive) ordinary car will cope tomorrow (Friday)?!

Is there somewhere you can get dropped off without having to get stuck in the parking queues?
I am going on Sunday and husband is going to drop me and pick me up later.

apologies for hi-jacking this thread, but I'm going training today and my trainers yard is about 15min drive from Badminton. I usually chug through Bath (no ULEZ yet) and pick up the A46.
Its going to be a really hot day today, and I dont want to get stuck in traffic on the 46 with my poor horse in his metal trailer....
Should I wriggle round the back way to get there...quite a bit longer but at least I'll keep moving or should I risk the the A46? I haven't been to Badminton for a few years now and Im wondering just how busy its going to be today?

Was at Badminton today. Got there just before 8:30 and sailed in from Didmarton and was in the first row parked by the lake. Ground is very good so no issues with getting in or out.

The car parks were much busier on the other side (if co ing in from the M4).
