Badminton 2022 course behind paywall....a miscalculation?

It's probably just me, but does anyone else think keeping the pictures/articles of the Badminton xc course behind a paywall is a bit like shooting yourself in the foot with regard to revenue generation?

I have zero interest in watching previous years or on catch-up, I would only watch live......so was waiting to see what the course was like before deciding whether to attend in person, or stump up money to watch live, or simply not bother......but as I can't see what is in store for the competitors or if there are any questions that I might particularly enjoy seeing answered, I have no way of making that decision, nor is any excitement generated to make me want to fork out on either option!

Ah well, I'll probably ignore Badminton this year, and see about Burghley.

I've posted a non paywall link to the course on the other badminton thread if you want a gander :).

yes..I saw that one…I really wanted the video one as you get a much better idea of line and terrain, and thus difficulty! …sorry, the problem of being an ex-competitor! Thank you

There are loads of free course previews

I couldn’t find any giving more than a brief write up and a couple of photos which are seldom taken on the line jumped?…can you point me in the direction of a comprehensive one, preferably video as we used to be able to see?
Thanks

Honestly the version on Badminton TV, whilst talking about the philosophy around the design and showing some interesting fences still doesn't really give much idea of terrain. It's not a course walk, rather a preview of specific fences. I mean, you probably would get more idea about lines etc, but I am not sure how much it really shows of the terrain?

I think the issue with giving away any of their content for free after people have signed up is that people may feel like they are not getting their money's worth.

I have signed up for this year and have already watched the 2019 event in full and will probably watch some of the old highlights programs as well- but I'm not sure I'd sign up again next year having watched the past content already.
