Having not been anywhere for 5 years with family issues, covid, and lack of £££. I have decided as my son has bought a camper van, I am going to loan it for Badminton next year. Anyone done the camping who can give me an idea on cost and if they have electric hook ups, and how many days one can camp for ? Will have my dog with me, and am quite excited about going. I know it’s next May, but something to look forward to.. Any advice and hints and tips welcome. Thank you in advance

You will love it! We took our motorhome for the first time this year, and stayed for the duration. I cant remember how much it cost, but thought it was reasonable. Take your own food as the food outlets are expensive and close fairly early I think. We had us, the kids and dogs. No electric hook ups, but we have a solar panel which was a god send. Especially for kids wanting to charge phones! BOOK EARLY!!! It was sold out on the first day if I remember. We had to have a bigger pitch for the size of motorhome and so could only book over the phone. It's a fair walk from some of the camping fields to the site. We were in the furthest one away. Had its pros though as we had nobody behind us and only a couple next to us on one side. The only problem for the whole thing for us ( and from what I can gather most others) was it took us nearly 3 hours stuck in traffic to get out on the Sunday evening. There was NO ONE directing traffic and was a free for all. The big lorries were barging their way through, and it even resorted to people taking the railings down and a fight broke out! Other than that it was the best 'holiday' we have been on. Its our only break away next year.

Definitely book early, I think you can register for early booking.

Booking opens in Jan I think and good spots are sold out in hours

No electric but the warm showers are pretty reasonable (for a campsite) and the porta loos are cleaned every day.
We prefer the 'quiet' field so we can sleep, there are some of the fields that are more party all night atmosphere - entirely your preference. but do your research - if you want to party you won't be welcome in the quiet field and vice versa.

We usually go on Thursday but went Wednesday this year and enjoyed the extra day, I think you have to book a place for the whole thing for a motorhome so it doesn't make any difference to cost if you stay 1 or 4 nights. Lots of people arrive Friday pm
Standard Pitch (7m frontage x 8m depth) to include Car Pass and 2 Campsite / Personal Admission Badges £295
Food and drink is expensive (captive audience) and also the wait to get a coffee in the morning was huge so you save time and money by brining your own.
