So delighted for Caroline! That mare has been outstanding in all three phases.

eta: as someone who has been the hugest fan of mares all my life, its amazing to see mares first and second/third, I believe Lucy and Alex finished on the same score, but obviously Lucy was closer to the optimum time xc.

Aww, thanks for it all WFP.

I saw him ride a youngster once at Eridge Horse Trials and was just starstruck (had no idea big stars did that, I was young and naive). I remember my ex being totally perplexed at my utter amazement.

gutted for Tim. I was so hoping that all his hard work would pay off and he would finally get his win. But Caroline certainly deserved that, her round was incredible.

And what a badminton for Alex, Lucy and Emily. Tom also equalling his last result.

And sad that William didn’t have a better result for his final badminton. It’s not going to be the same with him not riding around.

I missed William's interview! I was very teary after hearing his post xc interview so maybe for the best.

A total vintage Badminton year, one of the best I can remember! A real 5* test that didn't punish horses for mistakes. Still a question over tired horses running xc in my mind but overall a great competition. Can't believe Caroline's best Badminton prior to this year was 4th back in 2006 (I looked it up!) with Lenamore, another horse I loved. Just fantastic.
