Hi,
Im going to Badminton for the first time this year and am camping for three days at the badminton site. just wondered if anyone has done this and what the facilities are like? i have heard that he toilets and showers get rammed etc and im a bit worried!! also, i need a lot of new stuff and was going to wait until badminton to get it but some people say it is more expensive there? dont know whether to get it now or wait??
thanks very much! xx

Don't know about the camping but would not say things are more expensive. You get a lot of choice and like anything some stands will be more pricey than others but you can shop around!! Definitley bargains to be had!!....Enjoy!!!!!!!!!

went a couple of years ago, got up early walked x c course looked round shops, then came back had breakfast and showered, by about 10 the showers were empty then went back for another trip round, this time clean! excellent butcher on site, pub in village a bit basic for food, took lorry so had no transport for venturing further afield. Got lots of bargains suppose it depends what you are looking for. Really enjoyed it. Dont do shops on Sat!

thanks that is really helpful, i was worried i would not get chance to shower for 3 days! i was hoping there would be a pub in the village too! is it open in the evenings or just during the day? thanks x

I'd say showers are busiest around 8-9am and 6-7pm and it's a bit hit and miss as to whether it'll be boiling hot or freezing cold. Toilet's aren't bad considering and they are cleaned and emptied morning and night. I'd keep a stash of toilet paper just in case!

With regards to shopping, definitely wait until then, some stalls are expensive so if you're looking for something particular, do your research before you go so you know how much normal rrp is. As with anywhere, stalls differ in price to hunt around!

And as Amanda said, don't do shops on Saturday....it's rammed!!

I'm sure I read the pub in the village wouldn't be open this year or was I imagining that!!

The beer tent by the big screen stays open through the evening but I think you may have to pay a subscription this year?? Anyone confirm on that? I'm sure I read something in the stuff sent out with tickets.

No pub in the village, its a members only club & you used to be able to take out temporary membership, there are some nice pubs a short drive away. The showers are awful, so prefer to boil a kettle & have a good wash in the tent, sorry if thats too much info, yes you will be a bit pongy after 3 or 4 days, but it is so worth it, have fun, but do avoid the shops on Saturday!!
