Do the breeders of the winner get any recognition?

Just asking as Mike and Betty Hounsell bred Headley Britannia when they were living just up the road from me! I think a friend of mine broke her in! It must be so exciting for them!

Its really great when a British bred horse wins a big one.

They were awarded embryo transfer I think

Im not sure they are still running a stud as they moved away. Hope they are, I expect they will be but on a smaller scale. Its great they get something!

Can I be really stupid and ask- what exactly is meant by enbryo transfer in this context?

They remove the embryo's from one mare then plant them fertilised in another mare.Abit like sarrogacy (sp).I think!!.

Yes - or at least they used to!

Friends bred Horton Point and they received a lovely horseshoe plaque naming the success; not sure if they had anything else though and as I say they might have altered things by now.

I think...... shes by Jumbo. Gave my badminton thingy away!! I know Mike was well into Jumbo as a sire!
