Badminton - Friday dressage

They were slating her yesterday too, very erratic judging IMHO! Marks for a rein back a moment ago ranged from 5.5 to 7!

apparently the competitors are complaining too about it and thanked the team commentating for mentioning it Pammy said.

they did read out the judges names yesterday and I cannot remember who they were now! There was an bit of a worry about reading them out too from the commentators due to their comments on how erratic the judges are.

It sure is a shame

According to the FEI Schedule they are:

Ground Jury CCI4* Ground Jury
President 1004897 Mrs. Sue Baxter GBR 3*/4*
Ground Jury
Member 10051258 Mrs. Anne-Mette Binder DEN 3*/4*
Ground Jury
Member 10052047 Mrs. Christina Klingspor SWE 3*/4*

Yes on lunch at the moment, back at 2pm?

It really is a shame about the judging, and I'm in total agreement with Pammy and Peter re. the flying changes. There is no consistency with their marking. I'm sure there was a movement for one combination earlier where marks ranged from a 4 to a 7!? HOW?!?!

The whole flying changes thing is a bit amusing but also a real shame-I just don't understand how the judging could be so erratic?! I also agree with those commentating that often decent correct changes aren't being rewarded and are getting the same or almost the same as those that are not correct. Very odd. Maybe the judges need to go to Specsavers-NOT that I could do a better job!

We love Pammy at the moment. Our horse got all 4 changes good and he wasn't rewarded. Now he isn't a dressage horse but he is obediant - Pammy slated the marks the judges gave for our changes.

There just doesn't seem to be any logic. Things that you think get penalised don't (unless it's Gemma's halt) and then people get lower marks for perfectly nice movements. Yesterday I was sitting right behind c and someone hugely rattled the boards on their rein back, not looking straight, and I thought "what a shame", then two sevens and an 8 came up for that rein back.

I've only caught some of it as am at work, but I can't understand some of the marks either... I'm sure (forgive me I can't remember the horse or rider as am at work so sneak watching!) someone earlier got a 2.0 and a 5 or something? How can there be so much difference..

Hooray for Jonty Evans. Would've been in the lead if not for that ridiculous 5 he got! Aww and he's all tearful in his interview. Such a lovely man.

And a lovely test from Ingrid to take the lead. Some nice tests this session.

Poor Cathal though, his mare was totally not on side :(

Aw I was reading about him on H&H yesterday and was hoping he'd do well.

Typically on a day when we're quiet at work and my boss isn't in so I could sneak a peak - the feed isn't working for me.

Unfortunately she downed tools on the lateral work / almost anything near the entry, he managed to get to the end but with a nearly record bad score :(

Interesting they just interviewed Mark Todd and he commented that he'd done a perfectly nice test yesterday and a pretty bad test on today's horse, yet they were only one mark apart. These judges haven't done much for a good start to the weekend!

Well there ends the dressage. An interesting year! The marking just needs a kick up the backside. Some fantastic tests, shame not from the Brits though!
