Badminton is back to being the worlds No1

Just want to say well done Hugh Thomas. I thought his course was useless last year but this year it was a supreme test of horse and rider. Those that had a mistake could still get round but without being in with a chance and those that showed bravery, good riding and a great partnership flew round the course.

The ground was perfect and I would rather see tired horses as it takes a good rider to work out pace and places to save energy than loads finishing within the time.

I thought the lack of coffin canter was dreadfully aparant at the quarry and those that rode bouncy and short and sat still jumped it beautifully.

The riding at the Quarry by some was ridiculous. Since when did you approach a log on a steep drop at that speed and sitting forward?

Looking at the results, that's a proper Badminton score card

I couldnt agree more after watching Rolex, that to me looked like steeplechase... XC Course looked real straight Hence certain riders going way to fast to the fences and never tugging at all. I watched the Bady XC Course walk on the site and think its brilliant!! Cheers!

Completely agree, it took bravery, skilful riding and a bold horse, which is what I feel Badminton should be.
After last year's fiasco, it seems lessons were learned..

I just want to say that I was listening to Radio Badminton via the internet on Thursday and Friday, and although I obviously couldn't see what was going on, I learnt so much. Thank you commentators, especially Pammy Hutton, all those little comments really opened up dressage for me, it's made me really keen to get on and learn!!!

Totally, superb course, and the section through the middle was mentally challenging and what a 4* should look like.

And I so agree about the lack of coffin canter at the quarry, whilst trying to explain to my non horsey boyfriend what was the correct approach to that type of fence, it took a long time for someone to come through and ride it properly, so i could tell him thats how you do it!
