Now the sheffield event is cancelled we are looking at going to Badminton instead but its a minimum 2 1/2 hour drive in good traffic :(

Would you say its worth the drive ? Is the shopping good?

We can only go on the Friday (dressage day) which is fine because we are interested in dressage and will really enjoy watching all the top names but will everything be set up and open ?

Thank you :)

Well put it this way, I've driven 6 hours each way for the last 3 years, camped in a sometimes muddy wet campsite...and spent over £300 for the priviledge. So I'd say yes it's worth it!!

I don't do dressage so spend the dressage days enjoying the shops and atmosphere and walking the XC course with the dogs, but it's definately worth a little 2 hour drive in my books!!!:D

Not going this year because I've spent up on new horse and booked 2 horse camps but I'll definately be saving to go again next year.

When I've been on dressage day everything has been set up and open but then I've only been at the very end of the second day of dressage, I would imagine it would be the same for the first day. Is it worth the drive? - well I would say YES!! (although I may not be the best person to judge this seeing as I live 1/2 hour away). I love Badminton! :D :D

We travel from near Manchester every year... its deffo worth a day out there. It takes us about 3 3/12 hours depending on the traffic but its worth it esp for the XC day :o)

Everything will be set up before Friday as there's the vets inspection on the Wednesday and, I think, the grassroots events.

I only live 30 mins away but have been every year it's been held since 1967 - so it must be good.

Traffic should be much less on a dressage day although the problem this year is that's its Good Friday so you will catch the holiday traffic travelling south.

Totally worth it, it's the best event in the UK, IMO :)

We are going on the Thursday this year for the first time, to support friends on the Grassroots day. All the trade stands should be open by then, and there's no entry fee. Bonus!

Dressage day is always great, so much quieter than XC day too :)

Not far for us but have booked a hotel and have season ticket so will be there Saturday, Sunday and Monday , yep it's worth it! :)

Love it for the shopping and atmosphere, and tend to go on the dressage days as less traffic and crowds. We usually walk the xc course and then head home to watch the xc action on tv from the comfort of the sofa!

I travel from north Cumbria which usually takes 4 1/2 to 5 hours, depending on traffic. I am not looking forward to it as much this year as I expect the Bank Holiday traffic to make our journey much longer. I normally go for XC and SJ but will only be going for XC this year as there is NO way I am travelling home on a Bank holiday Monday :(

XC day is normally the busiest so if you intend to go for the shopping, it isn't the best day as you seriously can't get into some stalls for the crowds. Dressage day is the best day to grab the early bargains.

Definately worth the journey IMO. If I lived as close as you, I wouldn't question it :D

Hell yes! Shopping village is just that it is so big! You will be seriously amazed trust me! Take a look at the web site - pretty sure last year it listed all the trade stands...

We can hear it from our dad's gazebo and probably see more on the gogglebox and I STILL pay to go... howzat for worthiness of Badders?
