Not heard an update on Dee yet, fingers crossed for her though.

Poor Ruth, horse just didn't pick up his left knee at all. Both ok, but very wet walk bacl to the stables!

I wonder if they suspect a spinal injury hence taking every precaution and treating it as worst case scenario? Fingers crossed for her.

It looked a hard fall, quite flat on her back rather than rolling. They will definitely be exercising caution incase there's any head/neck/back injuries.

If you roll the momentum of the fall is spread a bit whereas if you just slam into the ground flat you take the full impact of the fall in one go

I would think it depends on the exact situation, but in Dee's case, she went head over heels and landed flat on her back. This means her momentum was stopped almost instantly and would be quite jarring on her body.

Had she gone off sideways, chances are she would have rolled, and the energy would had dissipated over more time and been less intense. Hope that makes sense?

Going to have to drag myself away now... need to go to the feed shop and I promised my poorly injured horse I'd buy him a new stable ball and other treats so must get going! Hopefully get back to catch the end....

I have a broken one too - I managed to get up really early to do her and get to the feed shop before it started but I have a full days work to do today and haven't achieved very much
