Also can someone PLEASE tell me why people go in breeches? Do they not realise they look ridiculous?!

I know!!!

The best outfit I saw was skinny white jeans teamed with gold ballet shoes, whilst walking through the Huntsmans Close - silly girl could barely walk with all the twigs stuck in her feet!!

Lots of Dubarrys again this year, although I'm sure there were more last year, poss because it was damper.

The only reason I would go to Badminton in jods is if I lived within walking distance and had come straight from the yard - otherwise, inexcusable!

i would still go home and change!!!

Second that!

I can think of a few different types of clothing that are FAR more flattening to wear for the derriere then jodpurs.

What ever happened to good old Hunters for wet and walking boots for the dry.

Ah yes, but i'm probably far more lazy and disorganised than you! Have been known to go clothes shopping straight from yard, traipsing through Next leaving a trail of woodchips in my wake......

Ah now I took my show jods with me as I was shopping for long boots and wanted to try them on with boots. Luckily the first pair I tried I bought so I was only in jods for 5mins.

I was wearing jeans, a purple badders polo shirt, and B & Q wellies!

Oh, but I did have a pale pink cap... Well, it was reddish check, but it looks pink from a distance!

Yes there were some people that have SERIOUS money there....But I have to admit by then end of the day, apart from feeling rather poor and common in comparison, I was relieved to not have some of the various 'affections' that some of the sloane ranger types seem to sport.....And hanging around the bar and shops all day was not why I went...I went to see the horses (besides I can eat and drink at the same time as walking the course! too much to see!)

Also noticed so many people wearing scarves - It was hardly cold, I really don't see the need! Obviously part of some 'uniform'....

i wore jeans, a musto 'round the world' t shirt that i bought at last years badminton (it was the only clean t-shirt i haven't packed yet), my yard coat that smells of horse p!ss cause i was cold, and my very old mountain horse boots with the hunters in the car (just in case). Oh and a cap so i could hide my hair inside it!

It wasn't cold enough for scarves and it wasn't sunny eniough for sunglasses.

there was far too many durbarry's (sp?) worn with white skin tight jeans, but the best i saw was..

some woman in a full length tweed coat with stiletto type heels, a wide belt around a VERY skinny waist, backcombed hair and huge sunglasses.
she did trip over though and we couldn't help but laugh!

It certainly was sunny enough for sunglasses on saturday.

when we went last year the funfair area round by the joules stand was overrun with girls in sweat pants, Dubarrys, designer polo shirts and oxbridge hoodies, with the typical Sloaney-pony messy ponytail, dangly earrings and the compulsory pashmina-why?!

I still have a rather attractive bright red nose and forehead with white panda eyes which weevil thinks is hilarious. Would have been better without the sunglasses but I get headaches from bright sunlight - think it's all those years I lived in Scotland and never saw any

That's what I thought too - I wore mine from 10am onwards or would have been squinting the whole day!!

Gosh i was one of the Dubarry girls!! I have them cos my OH gets them cheap from one of his freelance jobs he does,i'm very lucky! I have had mine for over 4 yrs though so am not recently following the trends! i wear mine everyday for dog walking and it was windy and looked rainy in the morning so i wore then then and then bought some of those crocs sandals in the afternoon.I saw loads of people wearing them and was saying to my friends how ugly they looked and you wouldn't catch me wearing them, got to the stand where they were being sold and tried them on for a laugh--- absoloute heaven, really.don't knock em till you tried them,i bought 2 pairs in the end and i had comments from people as they actually look good under some long jeans!! I saw sooooo many Kate lookalikes too. Also can i ask a odd ? why do so many people get jackets with their name put on the back? I have a friend that is a SJ'er and is very high up and she has one but if you arn't that good why obviously get one done for the sake of it? Is it in case someone forgets your name?

**Also noticed so many people wearing scarves - It was hardly cold, I really don't see the need! Obviously part of some 'uniform'.... **

it is a uniform, here in durham uni all the rahs wear them whatever the weather, looks daft, flip flops little skirts and a flimsy top them a great big scarf on, dont get it myself - if its warm enough to wear hardly any clothes its too warm for a scarf

Oh in ym younger years I had one of those name jackets except mine said
