I used to ride out with my mobile, etc, in a cantle bag. I then realised if I came off and the horse did a runner, I would be as good as useless! Winter isn't so bad as jackets have decent pockets, but what does everyone do with their bits and pieces in the summer? I have tried jod pockets (too small) and even stuffing my phone into my bra but that's not so comfortable with a smart phone! Ideas anyone? I was thinking of perhaps going a bit retro 80's with a bumbag of some kind? At bare minimum I would want my phone and keys on me.

i've got this thing I can wear on my arm - found it somewhere on a website for runners. better than the ones they sell as only mobile phone holders - I can get my phone, inhalers, car keys and lip balm in it and its still fairly small. also has an ingenious pocket in the front in which i've put my details in case I come off and get knocked out (fingers crossed not but I can't help being organised!!!!!!!!)

I had this problem until I got a Polite HiViz waistcoat - it's got two very handy zip pockets - Perfect size for my phone!

The only downside is I get wisecracks from motorists and pedestrians about police cuts as I'm usually on a 13.2 hh Appy! (and just in case anyone is worried about the weight issue I'm 5 ft tall and weigh 8 st 5lbs)

Hi viz gillet has pockets. I would consider retro bum bag. I did have a pouch strapped to my arm, but I had a freak incident where I got it caught on a branch and got tangled. Ouch.

what, you mean my lovely bumbag is considered 80's retro???!!
(latest in a long line of bumbags I've been riding in for last 20 years!)

dunno whether to flounce off offended or admit I'm living in a bigger timewarp than I thought.
pah!
