BAHAAAAAAA b****y sellers

Im sooooo cross :( I have been looking on and off for a project for the last year or so ,made a few offers etc but nothing has come of it. Had a reply to a wanted ad I had posted and it sounded exactly what I was looking for so exchanged e mails etc the horse was up for more than my budget but seller said I could have her for my budget it I could collect her quickly horse is up north and I am in kent so not exactly easy)and in my last one I said that if I could arrange transport and stabling then I would like to purchase horse. Sent an e mail tonight saying that all arranged just waiting for final conformation from transporter and got one back saying that a friends daughter was trying mare and they would offer the asking price if she got on and could I wait a few days :( :( aggggghhhhhhh if you want full price then why reply to an ad saying they could only offer £250 less than your asking price - so do I wait it out or carrying looking and viewing ?

15hh upwards(although would need to cobby type if 15hh),4 yo ,would like broken but not schooled but would consider part broken. Happy to take on ex racers. Not worried about issues eg barging when being handled etc. Horse cannot have any vices eg cribbing and windsucking due to the yard that I am on. Horse needs to be passported but happy to sort vaccinations etc if needed. I do have a miniscule budget of £750 .

Unfortunately you are looking for what a lot of people are and £750 is no money at all. Project or not, cob types are highly sort after ex TB have you tried race horse trainers, if you have references and a record of reschooling a lot of trainers will give you a horse for free, but you do need a good history that can be checked upon with schooling and producing horses. Again vice free horses in your budget is a big ask as that is what brings their price down.

A good point of call is your local auction, or go to a racehorse sale where the minimum price is 500 gunieas (I believe) and a lot of horses go for that price.

If you really like the one you have found, and have no others to look at then waiting a couple of weeks although a pain is not to bad in the big scheme of things.

Hope you find something soon, have you looked on project horses?

I think you will find that Stinker Stonker's Mum paid just £850 for her CB gelding Barbarian Buccaneer - he was just backed. Why not pm her. CB geldings go for less than the mares.

I know my budget is tiny - I have tried my local trainers but they are all flat racing and the biggest I have been offered is a 15.2hh with legs like pipecleaners :) I have my local auactions coming up in April so I willbe attending as prices last time were very low so I know its not the be all and end all . Just annoying when I seemed to be so close to securing her . Have left message regarding the connie but no reply as of yet.

Reghadring the vices I would take on weaver or a box walker etc but my yard owner is very very precious about his fencing (I have a wood chewer so have been on the sharp end of it a few times) so its cribbing, windsucking and wood chewing that are out :)

There is a project for sale at our yard - 15hhs middleweight bay gelding either 4 or 5 broken before the winter but would need to be brought back into work again as over the winter he hasnt been ridden. Doesnt appear to have any vices - certainly havent seen him chewing wood!!!

I know that the owner needs to sell to pay her livery. We are in Yorkshire but I have a friend who does horse transport up and down the country and doesnt charge the earth.

PM me if you want some contact details
