I bought a Bahill pony box off ebay a month or two ago. Really happy with it, does the job perfectly for me and my ponies. It's clearly a fairly old model, has a wooden floor (in good condition) and is rear unload only. It has a jockey door at the front and is squared off in front. I was told it was a lightweight box weighing approximately 550kg unladen.

However, I would like to insure it against theft etc but I have thus far failed to track down its serial number. Does anyone know where this would be located on a trailer of this type? I also do not know the model name for it and as Bahill no longer seem to be manufacturing trailers I'm struggling to track down this information.

Anyone able to help locate the serial number or with the model name?

I have a Bahill sportsman and have the same problem!!

It should be on the chassis near the coupling I believe. However if it was ever stolen it could've been taken off or it could be under a few coats of paint!

Thanks, at least it is not just me being hopeless! I'll have a look near the coupling, box is painted a VERY vibrant shade of blue so that could explain why I couldn't find a number ;)

Hi, I had one of these for years, it was great. Bought it because it was so light and only had a car to tow with. We actually also moved house twice with it! The serial number was definitely on a plate on the A-frame near the coupling. They are also definitely not trading anymore, though we never had any trouble sourcing bits that fitted for it when we needed them, thanks to a local trailer company.

Mine sounds like the same model as yours ... it was called a Bahill Competitor.

Best of luck. Hope you get as many hours enjoyment and reliable towing out of it as I did with mine.

Gosh a blast from the past. I went to the factory years ago to see Brian Hill ( Hence Bahill ) Loved his trailers.
