My horses are turned out 24-7 i am feeding baileys lo cal at the correct amount for work and weight i have also been feeding a scoop of Hi-Fi lite with the feed (they only get fed once a day) the bag is starting to run out of the Hi-Fi obviously i will buy more if needed but I wasnt really sure if it is necersary to feed with lo cal? I have a Hanoverian three year old about 17hh and a dutch warmblood 12 year old, thanks

I feed this to my 16.3 DWB mare who is 8 but in summer she gets one small handful (to get her to the gate) she is in medium work and get ridden 6 days a week. In winter she get half a scoop with some chaff and thats it to be honest, she is also out 24/7 during summer and is out about 12 hrs a day in winter (Nov - Mar) She is a good doer though so doesn't need much hard feed.

I think i will feed it on its own after this bag is gone at least while they are out as I reduced it last night and they seemed to enjoy it just the same, and they have plenty of grass so lack of fibre isnt going to be an issue

My 2 welsh d's are on it and in summer they have it on its own,vvv good doers! If their looking well enough and they have access to decent grazing then i would def stop the Hi Fi.

You don't need to feed Chaff with it, but it does help if your horse tends to bolt his food as it will slow him down and encourage him to chew it properly. All of my horses are fed Baileys Lo-Cal Balancer and a large handful of Alfa A Original. The bag of chaff lasts us ages! We are only on our second bag of chaff since March and that's feeding 2 horses!
