Baileys No.1

No, didn't find it heating. I fed it to a 3 year old warmblood. She was very gangly and out of proportion. I always feed chaf with any of my feeds through, which helps with keeping weight on too, i use Alfa A which is not heating also.

Could be having a blonde moment but i always thought No 1 was breadcrumbs

Baileys No1 used to be breadcrumbs and bakery meal in the days before compound horse feeds were common place.

It shouldn't really be terribly heating because you don't feed it in great quantity. But, it is starch rather than oil as the energy source, so may make your horse heat up.

Introduce it slowly and it shouldn't cause any problems!

I love the stuff- it whacks weight on my TB without fizzing him up. A bag last's for quite a while and it looks yummy when you make it into a mash. my TBhas it instead of sugarbeet, and with warm water- he's a really fussy eater but loves the stuff.

Fed it to my ultra lunatic youngster, well he's 6 now, as he's always been difficult to keep weight on and it was fab and didn't cause him to blow his mind either. He now has a lovely healthy gloss and all round cover and he's put weight on beautifully and has a gorgeous little crest on his neck (don't panic he's not overweight!). Can't recommend it enough!
