I'm thinking about switching ned to the new Bailey's performance balencer. I'll speak to them tomorrow - but they are there to sell me something so I would like something a bit more impartial as well!

Ned is currently on Baliey's No 2 working pony cubes (1 1/2 stubbs scoops per day) Chaff and Pink Powder. Ener-G when needed. He is a 13.2 cob X good do-er on medium - heavy work. Ridden 6 days per week, competed / hunted in season.

His weight is fine (450Kgs) but I would like him a shade lighter. He had a light couple of months earlier in the year so he didn't start the competition season as light as I would have liked. I can't let him get cold to shiver the weight off as he is fully clipped. If I try that he'll just grow more of a coat and I'll have to clip him more often! I'd also like a bit more oomph.

I was thinking if I switch him to Performance Balencer + chaff I could ditch the pink powder which might make it cheaper. Feeding both a complete feed at almost manufacturer levels plus a supplement I must be over feeding some bits - but he is better on pink power than off it. The performance balencer at manufacturer levels might be a bit more comprehensive and it might help with oomph. He is a hungry lad and would prefer a bit more in his bucket too!

What do you think? Anyone tried it yet?

Don't know! If I find out when I speak to them tomorrow I'll let you know.

I'm always a bit wary speaking to feed companies nuritionists because at the end of the day they are there to sell thier feed. Yes the right one for your horse - but the right one of thier range.
