Looking through the vits and mins in baked linseed, which I give to all of my horses recently for the high protein and omega 3, I noticed it’s quite high in phosphorus, I’m concerned I should add a calcium supplement to balance this out? Any advice appreciated ??

If you feed a significant amount - more than 2 mugs a day - you should offer limestone flour as a balance. But very few peope feed that amount long term. If you are close to that and feeding long term (or feeding a breeding mare!) then just add limestone flour. You won't do any harm.

thank you for your advice, I’ll have a look in to limestone and perhaps get my grass and hay tested. I’ve been giving 2 cups a day, one in the morning and one at night comes to around 100g per day in all. X

You usually know whether there is limestone in your area, hard or soft water is a good guide, if your kettle scales up there is probably more than adequate lime in the forage and water to balance out the linseed, if you are in a soft water area then you may want to add limestone flour.

There is actually very little absorbable calcium in hard water - roughly 0.8 - 1.2% - much of which is not bio available. The calcium in water, forage and feed would balance out small amounts of linseed. But if you feed larger amounts - or if you feed bran - you need more.

But 2 cups of lineed a day is not enough not need to supplement. You need to feed more than 500g per day. OP you are well short of that. (And your mugs are smaller!)
