Both would be lovely!
I’ve been recommended by a vet to be feeding for feet and joint support.
I bought some Equimins biotin as it contains no nasties (alfalfa!) and I already used premierflex for my old horse so added that.
Apparently he doesn’t eat powdery additives, he only eats dry food so I’m not having much luck hiding it!
The only feed he reliably eats so far is nut. So I wondered if there’s a decent pelleted balancer which could cover one or both of the above?

Hi,

I have been recommended Spiller Joint Feed Balancer for this. Haven't started myself yet with this so no personal experience yet, but I have ordered it up.

Just looked at the ingredients make up on the Spillers and you need to feed 500g a day to hit 7.5g of glucosamine, 10g MSM. A sack would last you 30 days.

You are recommended to feed the following weights
10,000 Glucosamine
20,000 MSM
2500-5000 Chondroitin

I don't know about joints but for hooves:

Progressive Earth Pro Balance + or Pro Hoof

Forage Plus (different balances for age/season)

Equimmins Advance - also comes in a pellet form if eating powders is an issue

Add water (Or a juice) to the feed to ‘stick’ the powder to the balancers? I feed balancer electrolytes and good supplement plus molasses to ‘stick’ it together but I’m not too concerned about sugar.

I feed Forage Plus' Winter balancer to my mare for her skin issues. It doesn't contain biotin because she's gets mallenders and sallenders and biotin can exacerbate that, but it has completely cured her of all the itchy skin issues that she had. The M&S has gone, her coat is smooth and shiny, her newly barefoot hooves are fab, as is her mane and tail. For the first time in 3 years I haven't had to clip her feather of this year either. There has been zero biting and stamping. Her black patches are dark and lustrous and she has a generally happier disposition because she's not itchy any more.

The balancer IS a fine powder but I soak a couple of handfuls of Fast Fibre until they become a paste, then mix the balancer into that, along with some take salt, so that it 'disappears'. Then I add some Graze On to pad out the slop. She eats everything! (But then she's a greedy cob ?)

That’s interesting for my other horse, he will eat most things and has troublesome itchiness.
Not a hope this one would eat slop ?

I’ve just started one of mine on Robust Hoof. A week in and it’s already making a difference. Not with the hooves but also contains MSM which will be helping joints and horse is a lot more forward going.
It’s very affordable but only downside is it is very powdery and I think it smells awful. But can be well disguised with garlic.
