Are your horses deficient in anything? I wonder why people feel the need to supplement as vitamin and/or mineral deficiency is almost unheard of (say my vet-y friends, although they have come across over-supplementation).
My horse gets bailys lo cal balancer everyday and it made a massive difference in hoofs and her coat. My mare hoofs would never grow like she would only get her feet done every 11 week. Since going on the balancers her feet are growing like crazy she gets her feet done every 6 weeks. Before going on a balancer When I got my mare bloods done she was deficient in a lot of vitamins and minerals. Even though she had a lot of grass and she gets plenty of haylage.

My grazing is high in iron and manganese. I have one horse on forage plus skin and hoof and the other on Equimins advance plus currently a bit extra zinc and copper.

I also read that turmeric helps bind iron and started feeding it for that reason. Anyone else do this?

That's interesting. I wonder if that's responsible for some of the benefits people see from feeding turmeric.

If I suggested feeding turmeric though I think MrPF would just chuck me out at this point. ?

I googled turmeric again after posting above - there is a potential drawback in that turmeric may also bind the good stuff like the copper. Just thought I’d mention in case anyone thinking about feeding turmeric.
