have you thought about feeding a low calorie mix? when my pony lived out he was a very good doer and i fed him dodson and horrell leisure mix, it has all the vits and mins needed for a balanced feed to be fed on its own and doesnt put weight on!
my pony is now stabled so i feed him just under the recommended amount of mix along with chaff so he's only really getting the mix to make the chaff more palatable and so i know he's getting the vits and mins he needs!
