Can anyone recommend a feeding plan for a horse that requires extra fizz but is also an ulcer-friendly diet? While she has not been diagnosed with ulcers and shows minimal symptoms, I am aware most competition horses have them and would like to prevent them if possible! She's worked 5-6 days a week doing quite intense dressage (Advanced/PSG) including being lunged/hacked.

Whilst my cob x is in no way a top competition horse, he did have fairly bad ulcers. I was advised to feed a no molasses, no cereal diet and make sure he always had something in his belly before riding or any form of stress (travelling). That should stop the horse from getting the ulcers (unless they are being caused by other pain, which i suspect is my problem as we are now looking at KS!).

I was recommended Alfa A Oil (or normal) for a bit more energy, as well as micronised linseed which is good for them. I have also heard good things about Saracen Releve and Baileys Ease and Excel which is fairly new but that would have been too many calories for my little chunk! I like Topspec stuff and have always found them super helpful, my boy always looks good on their balancer and cubes. You could always try a supplement if you are worried about her developing them, my boy is on yeasacc for the hind gut which is cheap and generally good for them and then a protexin acid ease supplement as he is just recovering from a nasty bout! :)
