Bald patch on withers

I noticed tonight as I was grooming my boy that the hair on one side of his withers had started to come out. Am not sure what to do with it.

I had a lesson on Saturday and he was quite sweaty. My saddle needs reflocking and it is being done next week, but I was told it was OK and to just pad it out on top, which I have done, until it has been flocked. Don't really know what else to do. He doesn't seem sore on it. Any suggestions as to what may have caused it or how to treat it?

probably his rugs its been a long long winter. summer is not far away. just check his rug fit
