bald patches

hello, my old boy has small bading patches on his right side, whcih have come up over a few weeks.

hes very hairy, and is well rugged and at first was wondering whether or not it is hus rug that was rubbing, but we now dont think its is,they are a few on his bottom and one on his side. his skin is quite scurfy, but then it normally is and we havent noticed these before.

mums worried that they might be mites, but didnt know what symptoms or signs there are that could determine whether they are or not.

the vet will be coming out this week anyway, but wondered if u had any suggestions, thery are not at all sore or anything

is he sweating at all under his rug? as sweat sores can occur if he gets damp under there.

A horse on our yard has the same thing and vet thinks he's getting too warm with his turnout on due to the mild weather. He's taken some scrapings to rule out ringworm (he's 95% certain that it's not anyway)
