Very well-bred dark brown horse, not super-big about 16.1 max and now in the Paddock Above with his stable companion, Master Imp. The fact that he was in Master Imp's shadow at Slyguff, plus his S1 classification meant he covered a relative handful of mares. Thankfully, his 'blue book' status wasn't a deterrent to the breeder of Cambalda, the USEA Horse Of The Year. :)

Of Balda Beau? No, there's no photo of him that I'm aware of but Cambalda, seen here on Jennie Brannigan's homepage, is a mini-me version of his sire. Bar the colour, as Balda Beau was dark brown.

Balda Beau's National Hunt sire, Kambalda, also produced Barton Bank, Minniehoma and Space Trucker and his dam, Stetchmore, won several point to point races. Like Master Imp, he was another home-bred stallion and his damsire, another Slyguff inmate, Stetchworth Lad, is the damsire of the Hong Kong individual silver medallist, McKinlaigh.

Fabulous event lines on both sides as further back on his dam's side, are two great influences in Tourbillon and Teddy, plus as Seabiscuit mentioned, Rock King's grand-dam.

Do you have any details on your mare's dam?

really!!?? i didnt realise she was this well bred!! lol
Yes her dam is Royal nancy Miles.:)
Where do you find all this inofrmation? i have been looking for years!!

Well, now you've got a clean sweep of Slyguff sires! Their prefix is Royal and if this is the mare I'm thinking of, she's by Kings Servant out of an Imperius dam.

Kings Servant was by King Of Diamonds out of a Highland Flight dam and then on Nancy Mile's dam side is Imperius, sire of Hickstead & Hamburg Derby winner, Vivaldi; the Swiss team horse at the Los Angeles Olympics, Slyguff and he is also the sire of Master Imp, ranked second in the event sire world rankings last year. Imperius is also the damsire of Mary King's Imperial Cavalier so slight understatement to say your mare has nice eventing lines. :)

She must have been bred at Slyguff Stud and either the late Loftus O'Neill or his sister/niece Frances & Barbara Hatton are listed as her breeder?

Just another thought, Highland King was bred on reverse lines to Kings Servant, i.e, he was by Highland Flight out of a King Of Diamonds mare, so similar bloodlines - he (Highland King) was the sire of that US silver medallist, McKinlaigh, at Hong Kong and the late Ballincoola.

Extra carrot in her bucket tonight? :D

You really do know your stuff!! lol Thank you for all your help!!
yeah i think so...i rescued her so her breeding didnt really play a part when i bought her but its good to know!!
Yea definately extra carrots tonight :D

I also know somone with a horse by this sire he has a Blue Book
Sire Balda Beau
Dam: Baurnafea Pearl
date of foaling 30/06/2004
She was also looking for info on him, it's a shame there are no pictures around.

Oh what a lovely thread to find. I too have a little mare by Balda Beau. Would love to see pics of him somehow/someday, but Cambalda has the same lovely soft eye on him as my girl and very similar in a lot of ways so it seems maybe he put a certain stamp on his foals?

She's just going on 5 and I only broke her in late last year, so she's due to start some proper work in a few weeks when i'm back from my own holidays and she's back from some spelling time. Will have to tell her she has some big hooves to fill! :D
