Just had a quick look and can't see any entry rules on there. Did you have a secretary's contact details when you sent your entry in? How did you fill the form in/send it to?
Colleen...I love you! lol E-mailed her earlier but got no reply & was having Heart failure! lol Phew!...
Hes having all the vaccinations on Saturday (Hopefully havnt left it too late) & farrier either this weekend or next! Lycra body suit, hood, shampoos, sprays, Soya oil All on their way too! lol just waiting on it all arriving. We were also learning that the hose isnt an evil snake! & hes after the inital freak out, were getting used to it! So its all coming together.
Fingers crossed the trailer will be here this weekend too & then we can start loading etc.
Ooo all so exciting!
Entries closed last month for balmoral and no late entries will be accepted if you haven't done it yet. All horses must have either a wetherbys register number or an irish horse board registration number.
If it doesn't have either of above passports ie registered with different studbook it must be endorsed with an irish horse board registration number to compete. I am in process of doing this to enable me to show in ireland as mine are anglo european registered.
Don't think the guys on the gate would know any different!
When the entry is filled in it must have one of the registration numbers on it.
As booty seems to be knew to the showing game it would be a shame to have a wasted journey if the paperwork isn't correct. I do think the secretary would notify her if there where any queries though.
This showing game can be quite complicated at times
I have just spoken to karen over the phone (livestock secretary) .
And well its normally a vet/official that looks at the passport whilst your at the gate , So they might know
.
As long as she has the passport , It will not matter if he is a zebra , he will be fine
She ( b_n_m) has already recieved her receipt , So I would think if there was any problems they would have said so , also I doubt they would have sent a receipt back .
I am also for balmoral this year, have been going with my filly over the last few years , Unfortunately my last inhand class
I don't intend to argue with you if thats the case I accept it. but I do have to say that the irish horse board can't be wrong as I have to endorse my passports to compete at any irish show!! Who's right??
Lets just hope he's not a zebra / donkey!!
We all believe in our horses and it can be gut wrenching to be at the end of a line-up.
I'd just like to say i'm not from southern ireland and I've been involved in showing for years, therefore I do know a bit
Yes its all about fun and its a learning experience. The show world needs younger people coming through new faces are always welcome.
My original point really was that the standard is very high and it can be hard to break into the sport that is dominated by well known names.
Nobody likes being beat, thats the nature of going in the first place. Like I said we all think we have a nice horse until its judged in the ring.
I'll be first to admit I have two top horses in my yard and a at least one other I don't think has it, but he'll be on the circuit this year anyway..... who knows
, Don't get me wrong I will do my best , BUT ..... Its not the end of the world to me .
I have produced my youngster to the best of my ability and I won't be knocked down because of a judges comment .
You take it as constructive critism and move on .
wowee, some people dont like being told that they are wrong!!
Just because you have done showing all your life dosent mean that you know everything
plus why did kenzie assume that missy was always at end of line up?!
i think i missed something there...
ah well, maybe thats what really is wrong with showing, assuming that all the "big boys" should win and the amatuers end of line!!
I think people are big enough to realise that the judges are critical because they have to be - and also that it is their OPINION!!
(not aimed at gina (qr)
)
sorry, that really annoyed me how kenzie treated you colleen and booty like idiots!
I don't have my knickers in a twist at all and i thoroughly enjoy showing my youngsters. I get great satisfaction from it and meet some great people along the way.
I just think a lot of people don't even know what a good horse is. Out of twenty horses your lucky if you get one good one!
I have been trying to offer advice to booty and keep her right, but obviously you must be speaking on her behalf as you seem to be replying to the posts.
I hope she does well with her colt and will surely see her along the way
I haven't been showing all my life but I have learnt hard lessons along the way and didn't want anyone else to have the same treatment.
Who is missy anyway? If you read it right I said the well known names always rule the classes and the rest are at the end of the line-up (unknown names)
I wasn't treating anyone like idiots, obviously pointing people in the right direction doesn't go down too well.
your right about everyone having a different perception. I'm not a name either and have been successful too.
I wasn't putting her down my original post was to help with the registration of the colt going by the irish horse board.
I never even mentioned missy, she has nothing to do with the conversation at all, someone picked it up wrong as i was generalising. I wish her the best with her colt
You obviously took my post to be arguementative when it certaintly wasn't my intention .
Ah well .
Booty can speak for yourself , I am certaintly not speaking on her behalf as you so put it .
Perhaps you would like to ring balmoral/kings hall tomorrow and find out the correct answer as saying that is what this "whole debate is about " .
That is not meaning to sound smart by the way
.
I was merely answering your posts
.
Missy is my youngster by the way .
I would also like to think I know a good horse when I see one as I wouldn't have bought missy
.
But yes I do agree alot of people don't know a good horse when they see one but whos to say .....
