Interesting

I must admit I have always shied away from bandages for schooling as I always felt they would heat the tendons too much. Also boots are so much quicker to put on and take off 😉

Well that's a pretty soft target from the home of KWPN breeding. How about they take a look at the kit the show jumpers have on the horses heads and the injections going into the hocks?

I had one horse who brushed behind who was exceptionally thin skinned and I couldn't find anything to prevent the rubbing except bandages. This feels like a decision that should be left to individual owners to me.

You also do see horses racing that are running with just plain vetwrap bandaged on their legs. Not often but you do see it. Presume to avoid the extra weight of boots having to be carried on horses that brush/speedycut.

I remember way back when I was training for my BHS exams how much emphasis was placed on correctly fitting 'exercise' bandages and 'stable' bandages due to the damage that could be caused by them being over tight or being variably tight in one place and loose in another.

I think banning them is therefore a good thing but totally agree that there are far worse things that haven't been tackled yet.

I do agree to an extent, but I do tend to argue against whataboutery...in most cases. This really does seem a strange intervention given the state of things...it might make people try and improve their horses' way of going so they don't interfere with themselves....as so many are about posture and way of going eg base narrow.

How strange. I don’t believe their reasoning for a second. There are so many facets of dressage that are about to implode or imploding and yet they chose to focus on this tiny issue that I believe should to be left to the owner to decide. Personally I don’t use boots/bangages. Maybe they’re going to try and blame the high level of broken down horses on the bandages. Curioser and curioser!
