Bandages or Stable wraps

What do you think of stable wraps compared to stable bandages for warmth, reducing swelling and support?

I used thermatex wraps when my mare was on box rest and they worked well. Prefer them to bandages as I think safer, less fiddly and less risk of over tightening.

I use thermatex leg wraps too - they're brilliant and much easier than bandaging

I use bandages to reduce swelling, there is now way you could tighten a thermatex wrap to an even pressure as with a bandage, you can be very precise but I always bandage when the legs have already swelled a bit (not tight) and they always reduce and I always use bandage pads underneath.

I have traditional bandages that I use with that foamy sheet stuff (whats it called?) and some equichaps. Don't really like either! The equichaps do dry his legs but offer no support, and even though I was careful the bandages left slight ridges.

For one minute I thought They are the same, if I asked for bandages in the tack store they'd point me at a box of band aids.

I prefer pads and bandages myself.

Recently discovered Thermatex leg wraps. They are brilliant, warm dry legs no more mud fever or filled legs. Too lazy to bandage wraps are a doddle! Got them second hand for only £25 too absolute bargain!

I use premier equine stable boots and they're fantastic! My mare was dragging a back leg slightly and very stiff with filled legs. She is a different horse with these boots.

I have been looking at the Premier Equine ones and thats what prompted this post really.

Ever since I liked Premier Equine on fb and signed up for the newsletter I get a mailing every day with 20% off this or that. Its boots every 2 or 3 days! These ones do appeal, they look more sturdy than the chaps I have

I bought fronts and backs. She wears the back ones every night and then if I've ridden her then I'll also pop the fronts on but I only ride 2-3 times a week. Would definitely recommend them though. I was ready to call the vet out before I tried these.
