My boy got a kick to the leg above the knee, sort of half way between the knee and elbow. It has been stitched and after having a few days with a bandage on from fetlock to elbow (just in case the bone was chipped i think, thank fully it wasnt although it went down to the bone) he is now in a bandage that covers the wound. The problem im having is that its slipping, when i spoke to the vet he had said dont worry about changing it unless it slips but as im allowed to walk him out for 10 mins its has slipped. I've changed it but it slipped again after walking, not enough to expose the wound but enough for the for me to worry
Has anyone got any good suggestions on how to limit it? Im thinking of walking him, then changing it tomorrow instead of the other way round that i did today which might help. He is having a sort of wadding bandage under vet wrap and other than vet wrapping it as tight as poss and starting as high as poss im not sure what else i could do.
Any idea would be greatfully received
