Vet came out for routine vacs and asked him to look at a nodular sarcoid which has grown very fast these last few weeks would have liked it lasered but he is not willing to undertake this without GA as it is on the inside of her leg and I am not willing to put her under GA. He suggested banding and it may drop off anyone else used this method and how long does it take ?

I used to look after a horse with sarcoids and we banded quite a few of the isolated ones. It could take anything between a few days and 3/4 weeks for it to drop off, there was no pattern to it really.

My horse's nodular sarcoids are high on the inside of his hind legs where lasered with him standing under deep sedation I don't know where you are but Liverpool is a centre of excellence in this field my horse had his first ones done at the Edinburgh uni the second which was in an even more difficult place was lasered by my vet in her surgery .
Taking them off with a band has no chance of killing the virus behind the issue it's a cosmetic job.
I would seek another opinion before deciding .

My TB had one on the inside of his hind leg years ago that was successfully banded, he was left with a very tiny scar and has never had one since.

I had two horses with sarcoids removed by banding... Banding should only be done if the lump appears to be floating/unattached under the skin, if not I would not do that and would be surprised if a vet reccomended that treatment for an attached sarcoid. Both my mares were banded, the lumps successfully dropped off and never returned.

I've had a sarcoid banded, I did it myself after the vet had advised this one was on the stifle , several years later I had some on the sheath area and between his back legs lasered, all under standing sedation.
There was some that they could not do in one sitting so he was going to go back this autumn, however these went on their own accord.
