Does anyone have any experience of a horse bashing one of their front legs and bruising the tendon and if so, what is the course of treatment?
We have come to the conclusion that that is what the pony must have done. It would explain the random scabby bit - i.e she banged it hunting on Sat, slightly split the skin which then got covered in nasty mud and came up with mud fever. The lameness has now gone and she was taken out for an amble this morning mostly walking with a bit of trot. She trotted up fine afterwards. We just want to make sure that we aren't going to do any further damage to the leg if we continue exercising her. She will not be going hunting for a couple of weeks. She is not sore at all on the leg, the mud fever scabs have gone with the aid of Sudocrem and Fucidin applied after the scabs had gone.
Any advice would be very gratefully received.
Thanks.
