Any appaloosa enthusiast out there?

I have Ben passported with the part bred register of the ApHC UK. Just pondering whether it's worth getting his passport over stamped by BApS? What benefits would it give me other than entries to some more shows (although looking at BApS, they don't seem to have many classes for part bred Appaloosas). And what do people have to say about the two societies? Is one more highly regarded than the other??

Any help appreciated :)

He's nice, very flashy! Unusual front white socks with bay pasterns too. Whats his breeding? ApHC UK is more for people interested in American bloodlines. BApS British bloodlines. A lot of horses are registered with both. My stallion is reg BApS and i reg all his foals with them, mostly partbreds. He is also reg ApHC USA and could be reg ApHC UK but i haven't yet reg him with them.

He is 3/4 appaloosa and 1/4 cob/dales/welsh/who knows what. His sire is Wa Ha Dar and his dam is by Corskie Vision out of the above mix. I guess he is registered with the ApHC as his sire is an american import. I love his front leg markings one judge said it looked like he'd had chocolate spilt down them :) I think they are black as he is genetically black, but for some reason these markings have 'bronzed'.

I love your horses and follow your page on FB :)

Am I right in thinking he can't be registered with the US as he's a part bred?

Do you attend the BApS shows? Most seem a long way for us to travel, especially when there a few classes for part breds, would like to know if it would be worth going. He's only 2 so this would also limit our classes. Would just like to get him to some shows purely for Appaloosas before he starts his ridden career.
