Bar above low stable door?

Stable door a little low. At previous yard horse had wooden bar across gap (still plenty of room above to look out comfortably) held in place by two metal holders either side. I'm considering this as worked well, but not sure if it is the best option. Any other ideas? Pics appreciated!

Anti weave grille?

Horse can still look freely out, but it dissuades jumpers (senior mare, I’m thinking of you).

I prefer the idea of this to a weave guard I think, as it would give more freedom of movement, just haven't seen used with a shut door. I dont think he'd jump out, but my old horse has in the past so I'd rather air on the side of caution!
