That certainly is barbaric! I hope whoever took the photo reports the person in question to whatever animal welfare there is in the country it was taken.

As for labelling all dressage because of it, no. There are good and bad.

If you read the comments underneath the picture it is allegedly a hackney stallion, so unlikely to be a participant in the dressage world methinks. More likely it is to acclimatise it to the bearing rein which we still see in the hackney driven showing world I believe, but stand to be corrected.

I am not condoning it at all....merely, stating my understanding of the comments in german beneath.

Actually its not for dressage. It's a hackney and the guy has been arrested for cruelty. Still does not excuse what he has done. I'd like to tie him up in this way and see if he is so quick to do it to another horse.

To be honest I don't think that can even be compared with rollkur, at least with an experienced rider on board there can be a quick release. That picture is just disgusting.

can I please just set the record straight and say that this picture was NOT TAKEN IN GERMANY!!! it's actually from the Highveld Horse Care Unit in South Africa!! nevertheless, it's absolutely disgusting and actually made me cry!! it just proves once again that the human race is the cruelest species on earth!!! shocking!!!

NOT ROLLKUR. It's a Hackney at a SOUTH AFRICAN stud. Barbaric but NOT AT ALL related to the dressage world
