I took a friends horse to the Ridgeway Barbury Castle Endurance Ride yesterday.
Only my 2nd time on the horse and first time endurance. Have to say I absolutley loved it. Horse can be a bit of a madam but was foot perfect.
For the more interested people I did the 32km CR, average speed 10.9km/hr, hr 42 when we set off, 45 at final vetting, completed the course in 2hrs 55mins, came out with a Grade 2.
Unfortunately the horse is lame today (vetting was touch & go) but the ground was quite stoney and the farrier is due so we think she just bruised her feet as no heat or swelling, so keeping fingers crossed there I didn't break some-one elses horse
