Just a quick report. Did an ok dressage test and got a 39.1 which was a little dissapointing as I thought it was better than that. Had a five hour gap to SJ so walked the course. Have never been to Barbury before and was reallt impressed with the xc course. Beautifully built in stunning country side. Went ok in the SJ, had an awful stride into the 1st and had that down but then jumped fine. Then straight on to the XC. I was really looking foward to this but Ed was just not himself. Jumped the first few ok but was not taking me into the fences as he mormally does. Ground to a halt in front of number seven, which was a roll top down hill, jumped it second time and then took it slowly around the rest of the cousre still jumping ok but not taking me to the fences. Had his bloods checked yesterday and it appears he is slightly anaemic. So feeling really bad about running him. Need to give him an iron supplement but have never used any before so any advice would be great. Now that the fields have dried out a bit he has moved to new field with loads of grass so that should help. Going to give him a week off and then redo bloods.

What about Red Cell?
Bad luck, but at least you know whats wrong and you can aid a quick recovery. Hope all is well when you re-do bloods in a week.

Hi

Had this with Saf recently and same low red, PCV and hemo and vet suggested Tweedels Racing which he supplied, she has been on it for 1 month and just finished the pot, smells horid but has done the job, bit expensive though.
Try not to feel bad they can't tell us, at least like me you actually got the bloods checked, which makes you a good parent
