I dont really know much about this but thought somebody on here maybe could help me.

I have a mare with navicular and i have seen someone on another thred that had posted a link for a chappy that takes horses in and somehow by not putting shoes on them they become sound. There are alot of positives outcomes for these horses that go there, making them sutible to compete and hunt again? :S

I just wondered how he does this? IE Thorugh feed, hoof ointment?

Can any farrier do this or do you have to be a 'specialist'?

I dont imagine hoof ointment can realign changes in the navicular bone to be honest. I imagine its through careful rebalancing of the feet, regular trims and a good diet.
Though ive not really heard good things about horses with navicular going barefoot. Only ever seen them go dog lame.

I've heard a lot of good things about horses with navicular going barefoot....I would do a Google search if I were you, I think you'll find a lot of positive stories.

Both mine are barefoot (both big horses) and I much prefer it...I hate shoes!
