Bare patches of skin...

Hi, don't know if worrying unneccesarily, but better safe than sorry. Bumbles has these patches of bare skin on both her lower flanks. Our dogs had mites and looked similar so could be that but she had a strip across her croup that I thought was scar tissue (this was from when I bought her) but looked also the same and that grew out in around 4-5 months. Any advice welcome Sorry pics aren't great

Looks like sweat rash to me, especially in that area with that amount of hair.

Doesn't look like it, its only loss of hair in about a 3inch area on both sides, not lumps all over

I've never found it causes hair loss in lumps all over, just either in the armpit/ girth or at the hairy whorl on the stifle like yours. I'd be washing off any sweat after a ride and if you rug being very careful not to over rug.

I only ever rug her if tipping it down and then its only a light waterproof rug

Can you scrape bits off with your fingernails? As in thick scaly stuff?
Could be a bit of rainscald.

Unlikely its a scratch/rub but not impossible. We think its most likely mites so got some diatomaceous earth all over her today, will do same tomorrow morning (may have to put rug on top if raining)

only grey coz thats the skin colour under her brown patches
