Would aproxx 2 miles ridden roadwork be fine for a pony? He has perfectly good feet. It would be conducted at walk and trot.

Would just like to clarify, thanks :)

Not sure how anyone could possibly know the answer to that... has pony done roadwork before?

2 miles is nothing really and *should* be fine but I don't know any history whatsoever. This is when questions on forums get rather worrying!

Of course! My cob has been barefoot all her ridden life and she's now 12. We've done 12 mile pleasure rides and she never skips a beat!

I rode mine barefoot on 14 miles road work for a sponsored ride. He Has been barefoot all the time tho obviously don't do it on a horse you have just taken the shoes off :)

Agree, how anyone can answer that without knowing the pony or it's history is beyond me

Nobody here can tell you that, all we can do is tell you about our own horses that cover miles of roads without any problems. I'd suggest you try it but be very aware of how comfortable your horse is. Maybe start out walking in hand to see how he feels about it.
