Hi,

It is two months to the day that Jay had his shoes off, and he has remained in some work all along. Today I took some more comparison photos...

I can definitely see a better hoof angle growing in on photos 1, 3 and 5. :D

Thank you. There are still some areas showing where the white line had some gunk in, which we cleared up with the Clean Trax soak. We are nearly at the level of the nail holes, and I hope in the next month or so the undersides will look perfect!

I did not think to link to the previous photos last month... http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?685078-Shoes-off-update-with-photos!

Thank you to anyone who comments!

I think the hinds are interesting, if the new wall grows down straight and shortens the toe I wonder if he will stop squaring them off quite so much :). I'm not sure if there is actual bull nosing going on or just toe rasping which I think was brought up before.

Thank you. I also think the hinds are interesting, the heels are at different places too. The shape of the foot has been like that for yeras, his winter turnout is in an arena and is sandblack ash with rubber on top. The feet wear more on this than in summer when he is out on grass. In fact when he had shoes on before the area of foot above the shoe would wear a small hole! He has not been lame on it though.

I am hoping now he can self manage a bit they may find where they want to go.

Out of interest I just had both this thread and the previous one open in different tabs, and they do look improved. :-) I also seem to have missed a foot! Doh!

This morning's were taken juat on return from a road hack.

How do you post pictures I'm desperate for people to see Maggies.

Is your farrier managing your feet or are you self trimming?

Hi,

My farrier taught me with a previous horse, this one I did it all myself, removed shoes and shaped them. I am sending photos once every so often so he keeps an eye on them that way, that is what the photos were sent for. Of course if either of use were worried I would take him in person.

For photos you have to upload to Photobucket, then use the photo link in the HHO options for the post, and it will post the link to your post, and when you actually post the photos will appear.
