As I've previously posted I'm working my way towards getting my boy's shoes off as his feet are so terrible that I can't help but feel it has to be worth a try as shoes just seem to be causing him more problems. He has just finished a course of treatment for ulcers so has some quite specific nutritional requirements and doesn't put on weight easily but is easily hotted up by too much hard feed.
I'd welcome any thoughts from anyone in the know as to how suitable his diet is and whether there are any obvious improvements we can make to help his feet. He currently has:
- ad lid hay when stabled.
- currently turned out for a few hours a day, will be increasing to 8 hours shortly, can be either during the day or overnight in the summer
- three feeds a day - each feed is one scoop of Hifi Dengie and 1/3rd scoop of basic pony nuts.
- supplements are equitopmyoplast (vet's recommendation) NAF pro feet, a magnesium calmer and NAF pink powder.
Am definitely open to losing some or all of the supplements as I kept him on them after I bought him, but am not convinced of the value of them.
Thank you
