anyone have one? I've had a Cheyenne before and confess to not loving it but this is smaller and for a different pony-and a bonus in that it should be ok for both ponies.

I know its all about the horse and making them comfortable ect but dear god thats an ugly saddle and I wouldnt ride in one!

I find big blocks and most dressage saddles pretty ugly myself but there you go.

Hi MOC, not sure if this will help....
Can i ask why that one in particular? is it just that it is smaller?
I have the Cherokee classic which i really like and before that ( going back a few years) i had the Arizona which is very similar to the Atlanta, it was super comfy but i could not get it to stay stable on my round Arab, it always slipped, i also didn't like it at all without fenders. xx

hi Shady-have always liked the look of the Atlanta/Arizona and I did have an old Nevada which I liked-stupidly sold it shortly before buying this pony. that was a 1.5 which was a much better fit than the size 2 cheyenne I had which I just found huge, I swam in it and it was very slippy although I didnt play around with pads. so was just wondering if anyone had one of these and if it was more or less stable than the others. Current pony is an XXW but he does have something of a wither and a huge shoulder.

Mmm, i don't know MoC, my Arab has very high withers and big shoulders and i just couldn't keep the damn thing on , when i spoke to Barefoot there was a really nice lady there at the time( Belgium) and she said it wasn't the right saddle for his shape and he needed something that wrapped around a bit more, rather than sitting on top as the Arizona/Atlanta has short skirts. Not sure about that really as many saddles for Arabs are short skirted but in truth the Cherokee sits nicely and the Arizona slipped so she was right regarding these saddles for my horse
. The Cherokee is basically the Cheyenne with knee blocks so not much difference there. You are right about sizes, there is a big difference between 1 and 2 . I would be tempted to contact Barefoot and send them a photo and trial the Atlanta depending on their response. I have found the english site not very knowledgeable so i would go to Germany first , sorry i can't help more xx

My mum had a barefoot saddle in to repair/ remake... it was so badly done and really wonky. Dont buy offline... give it a good check over first.... or buy a solution or heather moffat (enlightemed equatartion) if you want treeless. Much betted imo

thanks Shady-thats useful, its a SH one so will give it a miss I think-the smaller pony is much rounder and the idea with this is that could potentially be used on both.

db you couldnt pay me enough to use an EE saddle and although I expect they've changed, I rode in a solution a long time ago and loathed it-would rather ride in the thorn pad.
