Barefoot Cheyne or Freemax Acavallo

I should have said that my boy is prone to whipping round, and I hoped that I would be able to anticipate this action, as I have yet to fall off bareback on him as I feel so secure as I can feel every muscle, this was the feeling I wanted , but with extra security as I only walk when I am bareback.

Id go for the barefoot saddle. I looked into them and personally i decided they were best. I got mine 2nd hand but in good condition inc stirrups erc for £300. Only thing i will say is theyre fairly unstable if the horse bucks spooks etc. I found they provided little stability and its hard to tighten the girth once onboard as most use dressage type girths

I have a Torsion treeless, but I have ridden my mare in a Barefoot Cheyenne and I didn't like it. I'm not sure if it was the saddle itself or a combination of that saddle on my pony, if you see what I mean, but it didn't feel as secure as my Torsion and my thigh muscles were aching afterwards, which I took to mean I was sitting differently in it. If it's cheap enough buy it and try your horse in it, you could always sell it on

I know someone who has a Barefoot London for sale, only used a few times complete with everything needed (treeless leather, stirrups, dressage girth, pad, blocks, girth sleave etc) , all extra's are 'as new' too.

I found my treeless (Barefoot London) very stable when backing Stinky as a youngster, only thing I don't like it for is jumping over 2'6.

If you want real stability then a western saddle with a nice deep seat and saddle horn to hang onto is the answer:D

I have a barefoot London just started to use it to back my youngster and so far so good.
I have just seen this on NFED this evening, amazing value! if you are any where near salisbury?

ETA - didn't come up like I thought, put cheyenne in the search box. 1st ad

I had the barefoot treeless saddle with the western stirrups - my mare slipped on a rock up burrington combe and I went right over her shoulder - landed on head on stone and did backflip (nasty concussion splitting hat in 2) then used on youngster and came off - no knees rolls and no support although it was lovely and comfy to ride in - my youngster has slipped and even gone down on knees (eeek he was ok) and i didnt come off in my gp (treed) saddle.

Hope this helps x
